Sun Dance Ridge is located less than twenty minutes from Asheville Regional Airport, which is serviced by some of the nation’s premier carriers including American, Delta, United, Continental and USAir.  Non-stop commercial flights and numerous connections from major and regional airports are available through Asheville Regional. There are also two FBOs for private aircraft and charters.

The Asheville area is within a day’s drive of most of the Southeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states, through some of the most picturesque scenery in the Eastern United States.

Located seventeen miles east of the hub of I-40 and I-26 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Black Mountain and Sun Dance Ridge are close to Asheville and some of the nation’s premier scenic highways, national parks and Appalachian destinations.

Smart Direction: By Land or Air

Sun Dance Ridge is reached via NC Highway 9, less than one half mile south of Black Mountain Exit 64 on Interstate 40.  Highway 9 runs through the Broad River basin for 7.4 miles whereby you reach the junction of Old Fort Road.  Take a left at Old Fort Road and continue 1.5 miles until you reach the Sun Dance Ridge entry sign at Major Mountain Road and continue straight into the community.

Regional Directions by Interstate Highway

East/West:  From the east coast or western North Carolina take I-40 to Black Mountain Exit 64 and turn south on NC Highway 9 and proceed 7.4 miles to Old Fort Road.  Follow Old Fort Road for 1.5 miles to Major Mountain Road.  Take a left into the entrance to Sun Dance Ridge and continue one mile on Major Mountain Road to our home sites.

From the North: Take I-75 to Knoxville and turn east on I-40 to Asheville.  Continue on I-40 through Asheville to Black Mountain Exit 64.  Turn south after the exit onto NC Highway 9 – then follow the directions above to Sun Dance Ridge.

From the South: Take I-26 north and exit onto I-40 east. Continue on I-40 through Asheville to Black Mountain Exit 64. Turn south after the exit onto NC Highway 9 – then follow the directions above to Sun Dance Ridge.
